The Short Story of Jean’s Meeting Point
This is Jean, she is a shop-a-colic, by day and by night. She just isn’t able to leave the shoppingmall at all anymore. You could say that’s the reason she’s homeless. At night time, when the shops are closed, she roams the mall by herself and finds her customers near the ‘Meeting Point’. Jean takes her clients (male and female) to the back alley behind the neon signs for a quicky. Yes, that is her specialty, and Jean is good at it, the best!
Meeting Point, 2016, Mixed media (acrylic cubes, Miniaturfigur Preiser, made in Germany / Fake Chanel ‘CC’ pocket mirror / ‘Auto-coat’ glass window sign from Maison de Bonneterie, Amsterdam. If you open the gold filled seal this sculpturette will fall apart.
Powder Box Girls
Meeting Point is part of the Powder Box Girls; a series of statuettes accompanied by their own short story created by Mimi Berlin. The Powder Box Girls are girls of pleasure with double jobs. Working during the day is very important to them, oddly enough without these jobs they couldn’t work the night.
